Sun Pharma drug gets nod

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration to manufacture and market generic naltrexone hydrochloride tablets, used to treat alcohol addiction, according to information on the regulator's website. The drug, naltrexone hydrochloride tablets in 50 mg strength, is marketed in the US under the brand name Revia by Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. Naltrexone is an opioid receptor antagonist. It is prescribed to help opiate drug addicts and alcoholics kick the habit.
