Caraco moves production to third parties

Caraco Pharmaceutical, the US-based subsidiary of Sun Pharma that is facing the US health regulator's ban on man'ufacturing, has moved produc'tion of some of its products to third parties, including the parent in order to retain revenues.
"Even while the efforts for resuming manufacturing operations are on, Caraco has transfered certain of its core products to alternate manu'facturing sites in order to retain some revenues," Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Dilip Shanghvi, said at a conference call with analysts.
While he did not specify the details, Caraco in its annual report for 2009, said it has four products manufactured by third parties, including Sun Pharma. Last June, the US Food and Drug Administration banned Caraco's oper'ations at its Detroit plant, for alleged violation of Good Man'ufacturing Practice norms
