Chronic
therapy areas continued to appear attractive to companies
across the spectrum, as they entered the area, created
additional marketing divisions & introduced new
products. The first of biotech-based or technically-difficult
products from multinationals reached market shortly
after international launch. Small regional companies
continued their effort to create a foothold in larger
cities. Some large companies began to expand their field
force for rural markets, more seriously than they did
